ipbx eXpress

ipbx was either shipped to you pre-configured on a Taridium server as ipbx eXpress package or installed by Taridium Professional Services or an authorized reseller. You can skip this section and go straight to the Initial Configuration.

ipbx enterprise edition and ipbx eXpress

To install ipbx enterprise edition, Download the ipbx.iso from the download area and perform a standard CentOS 5.x install. The OS platform for the all-in-one ISO is CentOS 5.2 or later.

Warning.gif Installation of ipbx enterprise edition (commonly referred to simply as ipbx) requires basic UNIX/LINUX proficiency.

Minimum Hardware Requirements

Pentium III or higher with at least 1GB of RAM. 32GB of total disk space, 2x Ethernet recommended or Taridium provided SRV-1 or SRV-2 class server. It is not recommended to deploy a VoIP PBX system on a virtual server such as VMWare or similar due to call quality concerns.

Installation

Insert the ipbx CD-ROM and boot the installer. Go through the installation procedure and select the default values or change them as applicable.

Warning.gif The default root password is taridium200 - change this immediately to prevent unauthorized access! Always stage ipbx system within a local area network protected by a firewall/router.
