Destinations
Destinations are ways to reach a specific application, user, mailbox etc. Destinations can be selected in inbound routes and some applications. The following destinations are usually available:
Generally available destinations
- channel
a channel as destination will simply ring the selected phone/client. No voicemail, forwarding or any other settings will apply. Regardless whether there the channel is assigned to a user or not.
- conference room
This will reach any of the internally configured conference rooms. See Applications → Conferencing.
- directory
This will reach the internal dial-by-name directory. See System → Voicemail for a list of configured directory entries.
- extension
This will reach any of the internally configured extensions. This is the same as if you were dialing an extension. In most cases this will be used to dial an extension or number outside of the system (using outbound routing) or a custom dialplan configuration. See also Manual Dialplan Configuration.
- group
This will reach any of the internally configured call groups. See Applications → Groups.
- IVR
This will reach any of the internally configured call groups. See Applications → IVRs.
- mailbox
This will reach any of the internally configured mailboxes. This is the same as dialing **[mailbox number]
- on-call mailbox (optional module)
If installed this will reach the selected on-call mailbox. See Applications → On Call.
- queue
This will reach any of the internally configured queues. See Applications → Queues.
- service IVR
This will reach the service IVR. See Service IVR.
- user
This will reach a configured user (needs to be present as user and have an associated mailbox).
only available in inbound routes
- auto extension
Auto Extensions allows you to automatically match up DID's with local extensions. The match is based off the DID/DDI specified in the User configuration (or if a pure channel the External Caller ID). Matches can be strict (full match) or based on a number of digits (right to left). An example would be a Telco that only passes the 3 last digits of the dialed DID/DDI. This route needs only to be present once.
- unified voicemail (optional module)
The unified voicemail destination is used to route calls which usually come in via DIDs to their respective mailboxes. See also Unified Voicemail.
