Users in ipbx can also be referred to as stations or full extensions. Users are a collection of configuration elements that usually consist of: a channel, a device and a mailbox. By creating a user you will always create a mailbox and optionally a channel and device. Users cannot exist functionally without a mailbox. Any mailbox associated to a user that is removed from the configuration will be automatically re-created if the user is edited. A user that has no channel/device associated is a fully functional user without a phone.
