The Music On Hold interaction allows you to upload and specify music on hold classes for use in your applications and dialplans. To access this interaction click on ConfigurationMusic On Hold.

Music On Hold List

The Music On Hold List displays all the files for a selected music on hold class. A music on hold class is a collection of files that can be used in a variety of applications such as call queues etc. Click on the delete Cross.gif button to delete or the edit button to edit a specific class. The default class is a special class that cannot be deleted and is used whenever no other class is specified. This is the music that is played back when a caller is put on hold.

Playback Mode

By selecting random as playback mode, files in a class will be played back in random fashion.

Uploading a File

To upload a file, click on the upload button. The supported upload formats are WAV,SLN and MP3. Uploaded files will always be converted to s-linear format. The default maximum file size for uploads is 64MB. Note that in many situation you might want to reduce the volume of your recordings in order to prevent an overly loud playback on analog equipment.

Files are stored on the local disk under /var/lib/asterisk/moh-native/[class name]
