This optional ipbx module is installed under Advanced Setup → Modules. Registered modules are displayed with registered module.
Remote Extensions are extensions that are not local, meaning not connected directly to the PBX. This module is intended for use with legacy PBX interconnections via T1/E1 card or SIP trunks. It allows you to specify users to use a trunk as 'device' thus exposing all ipbx features to a traditional telephone system.
Configuring Remote Extensions
This assumes that you have already setup your interconnection trunk.
To access this feature click on System → Users and add or edit a user and select Via Trunk and select a trunk where the remote extension is reachable.
Instead of looking up calls to this extension locally, ipbx will now dial the extension on the trunk.
