This Quickstart guide will help you get started with comms. It assumes that your system is fully configured with a PSTN Gateway or interface. You will need to know the IP address/name of your comms server and of your call server (switch). On a single system install, these two addresses will be the same. You will also need DID(s) that point either to your gateway or have been provisioned on your PSTN interface.

Go to http://[ip address]/admin/ and login with the admin super-user credentials "admin" "comms500". Click on "DID's" and then select "Stock". Add one of your DID's to the DID stock list by entering all required fields (marked *). NOTE: You can only add DID's that have been assigned to you by your Telco or ITSP.

In the admin panel select "Enterprises" and click on "Add Enterprise". Fill in "Enterprise Name" and "Context/ID". "Context/ID" should be a lower case unique identifier for the enterprise. I should contain no spaces or special characters. Example would be something like "acme" or "widget" etc. Select your new enterprise's time zone and click on "add Enterprise". Keep this ID as short as possible and as descriptive as possible.

In addition to the settings in the Enterprise panel end-users can access their own interface to check voicemail, configure call forwarding etc. Go to http://[ip address]/panel/ and login with the extension number and PIN you have specified in step 4. You will have to specify the enterprise context/ID to which this extension belongs to in the same way as in step 3. E.g. if your extension is 1005 login with 1005@acme and your PIN. Alternatively you can also specify the enterprise name in the URL e.g. to http://[ip address]/panel/acme – in this case you will not have to specify the enterprise with your extension number.
Click on "Features" and "Call Forwarding -> Configure". Select "enabled" and enter a number to forward your calls to. Calls to the assigned DID should now forward to this number.
